Congratulations, Palu Tausala!
Congratulations to Palu Tausala who has been selected to represent on the Northern Illawarra Regional Rugby League team. Palu played his first game at West Ulladulla on 29 April. When the team played, selectors were present and were looking for players to represent at state level. A fantastic achievement! Congratulations again, Palu!
Footy Day Colours

Lake Heights Public School is going FOOTY CRAZY to help support the fight against cancer.

We’ll be joining thousands of Aussies to help raise funds for cancer by wearing our favourite football or sports team colours.

On Friday 13 May all students are encouraged to wear their favourite sporting team’s jersey or colours and bring a GOLD COIN. Students will assemble in front of the stage just after the morning bell. Each class will then step up onto the stage to drop their gold coins inside a big footy sock.

The SRC will be painting faces in favourite team’s sporting colours for $1.00 and will have coloured hair spray for 50c in the morning in sporting colours.

The entire school will be participating in a variety of sports during the morning. Between now and 13 May, save a gold coin or two to support the day, find some team colours or gear and help support the fight against cancer.

Movie stars in the making!
Lake Heights students have been hard at work both in and out of the school, with some of our past and present students about to make their film debuts.  TJ, Justin, Blayke and Mikaylah, along with some former Lake Heights students, have been working with a team from Beyond Empathy, whose previous film Rites of Passage, made with Illawarra teenagers, screened an ABC 1 in 2015 and won several awards at International Film Festivals. The Lake Heights community is invited to a FREE screening at the Gala Cinema on 4 May at 5pm. We would love to see you there!

See the Facebook event for more details and to RSVP.

Lake Heights Public School is excited to announce that we will be taking part in the Southern Stars School Spectacular this year. We have been accepted as a part of the massed choir, where students will be a part of the whole show on 26 and 27 August at the WIN Entertainment Centre. It has been many years since Lake Heights has taken part and we are looking forward to a successful return this year. School based rehearsals will start early this term and interested students are asked to return an "indication of interest" note that will assist the school in preparing to participate. A complete information package will be sent home to families who register their interest. A separate note for all Year 3-6 students will be sent home today.
