Last Friday, Lake Heights celebrated our improved attendance with a whole-school reward. Students were treated to a movie and special munchies provided by our P&C. Those students with above 99% attendance received Gold Class treatment and were treated to front row seats and comfy bean bags and cushions. They were also able to jump the queue to receive their treats.
There has been a remarkable improvement in attendance across the school this year. 88% of our students have achieved our school target attendance rate of 90% or above so far this year, which is fantastic to see! We hope to have even more reason to celebrate over the next semester.
New School Website Launch
We are excited to announce that our new school website is now live!
The website has been undergoing some big changes over the past few months. We've ditched the long, complicated address and have gone with something short and easy to remember. We can now be found at www.lhps.nsw.edu.au.
The website design has been overhauled and it now looks new and fresh and is a perfect reflection of our school image. There are lots of familiar faces that appear on the homepage and the site will continually evolve to reflect the changes happening at Lake Heights.
Most importantly, the website will be an important space for parents and members of the community to find information about the school. With the easy to use design, it will be simple to catch up on all the news around the school, watch highlights from recent events, find information about what's happening in your child's class or locate important school documents.
We'd love your feedback or suggestions for things you'd like to see included on the page. Please click here to check it out!
There is a P&C Meeting this Wednesay, 15 June. Everyone is welcome. We'd love to see you there.

K-3 Excursion to the UOW Discovery Centre
Click here to watch a short film about what our students will get to experience
Years K-3 are off an excursion! On Wednesday 29 June, students will have the opportunity to visit the UOW Early Start Discovery Space.
This is an exciting opportunity to visit Australia's only interactive children's museum and we know our students will love the hands-on discovery experiences. The Discovery Centre experience links with key inquiry skills that students are developing in Science.
The cost is $20, payable to the office by 20 June. Unfortunately, the Discovery Centre will not permit the use of personal memberships held by individual students.
For more information, please click here for the permission slip. Additional notes are also available from the Community Hub.
NAIDOC Week Celebrations
This year, NAIDOC week falls in the holidays so will be celebrated on 30 June, the last Thursday of term. We have a range of experiences in store, so please save the date to help us celebrate this important occassion.
FREE: WORKING FRIDGE
The school has a large 2-door fridge that it is no longer required. It is in very good working condition, but has no freezer compartment. Located in the old school canteen, the fridge is suitable for any cold storage needs.
The fridge is available to the first person who is able to take it away.
