Southern Stars Wrap Up

It's been a very big weekend for our Southern Stars performers with four performances over the past three days. After a huge week of rehearsals, our choir joined thousands of others from around the Illawarra to create a truly incredible performance.

Thursday included a tech rehearsal, followed by a full dress rehearsal in preparation for the first of four performances, commencing on Friday and finishing on Saturday night. The choir was involved for the entire show, including a final moving choir performance on the Arena stage. It was the first time that the choir has ever made it onto the Arena floor during a show for their own routine! As anyone who went along to see the performance will attest, the result was nothing short of spectacular! Just read some of the comments made on our Facebook page. Thank you to Ms Hunter and Mrs Whyte, who coordinated the choir and accompanied them to rehearsals and performances; to the parents who moved work schedules, helped with carpooling and tolerated late-night pickups; and most of all to the students involved for their hard work and dedication over the past few months. The experience was definitely something that everyone involved will remember for a long time to come!

Lions In Our Own Backyard

It's not everyday you have the opportunity to see lions while you're at school. Mr Hurd's class took the chance to visit the circus down at Kully Park while the Southern Stars group were rehearsing last week. Students were excited to see the lions lazing around up close. It was a pretty impressive sight!
