Make your Colour Run brighter!!
Date: Thursday 30 March

During our colour fun run on 30 March, puffs of holi powder will be applied as students run the course. Holi powder is made from corn-starch and natural food dyes.

Students may wish to purchase additional holi powder for the end of the fun run when they join in an explosion of colour. Additional 100g bags of powder are selling for $2 per bag (limit of 2 per student). Students just need to bring in $2 per bag to the office, any morning before the day. On the day, students who have pre-purchased holi powder will receive a hand stamp to indicate the number of bags purchased. As they cross the line towards the end of the run, students will receive their pack/s of colour.

That's a wrap!
This term, children have had the chance to take part in a group activity of their choice on Wednesday afternoons. One of the groups on offer this term was an iMovie making group. Click on the above link to watch the colour run promotion trailer made during this time.
Easter Egg Raffle
Our annual Easter Raffle is fast approaching and next week each child will bring home raffle ticket books to sell. Each classroom will have a basket that will be used for donating Easter eggs for the raffle. This year, we are also asking families to donate any small baskets that can be used to create the raffle prizes. Our Easter raffle is always an 'eggciting' event and the more donations we receive, the more prizes we are able to create.
Our chicks have hatched!
There have been smiles all around this past week as Lake Heights students have eagerly watched the hatching of the chicks. Each of the classes has had the opportunity to visit the chicks and children have loved observing and holding them. Any families that would like to adopt a chick will need to do so by this Thursday afternoon. The cost is $5 per chick and chicks will need to be adopted in pairs. Watch the trailer below, made by our iMovie making group, to see the children interactive with the chicks.
Have you seen inside our classrooms?
Our class information pages are now ready to be viewed on our school website. As well as containing essential information relevant to each class, some of the class pages also offer you a glimpse into the classroom. Follow the link below to catch a glimpse into the K/1 classroom as they take part in their morning L3 group rotations and make sure to check your child's class page for the most up to date information. Teachers will continue to update their class page throughout the Term.
Parent Teacher Conversations
At Lake Heights Public School we highly value parent communication in regards to your child's learning. Our parent conversation booking slips have now gone home and we urge all of our parents to book in a time to meet with your child's teacher.

Why it's worth going to parent-teacher conversations

Parent-teacher interviews give you a great opportunity to:

  • learn more about your child's academic, emotional and social development
  • meet and get to know your child's teachers
  • help your child's teachers understand more about your child
  • make plans with the teacher about how you can both support your child
  • build a relationship with your child's school
PSSA Cricket and Netball gala days
