Easter Hat Parade

The Easter Hat Parade and Easter raffle are two long standing traditions at Lake Heights Public School.

During the lead up to Easter, the students work on hat creations in class using a mix of materials brought in from home and provided by the school.

This year's parade will take place in the morning at 9:15am. Parents who bring their children to school will have just a short wait after the 8:55 roll call and are welcome to wait under the COLA where the parade and raffle will take place.

Tickets for the raffle will be available from Monday 20 March when each family will be given a booklet to sell.

Each classroom will have a basket that will be used for Easter egg donations. Families are asked to donate any small baskets as well as chocolate eggs that can be used to create mini hampers for some of the raffle prizes. Our Easter raffle is always an exciting event and the more donations we receive, the more prizes we are able to create.

Let's chat!
It's Parent Teacher conversations week.

Our parent teacher conversations are taking place throughout the week and we are happy to see the number of parents that have booked in to meet with teachers.

It is a fantastic opportunity to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, behaviour and any issues that you would like to raise. If you haven't already booked in to meet with your child's teacher, please do so this afternoon.

Senior Constable Lori Hanley, a Police Youth Liaison officer with the Illawarra Local Area Command, will be delivering a child safety presentation called "Keeping me safe" to K-2 students this Wednesday.
Wednesday Interest Groups
At Lake Heights Public School we understand that our students have different interests. For this reason on Wednesday afternoons, we have been running student interest groups where students can choose a group activity that interests them. This Term we had singing, crocheting, gardening, clay modelling, iMovie making, netball and cricket to choose from. Our iMovie students made some short clips to give you an insight into some of the group fun.
Clay Making
Colour Run Fun

During our colour fun run on 30 March, puffs of holi powder will be applied as students run the course. Holi powder is made from corn-starch and natural food dyes.

Students may wish to purchase additional holi powder for the end of the fun run when they join in an explosion of colour. Additional 100g bags of powder are selling for $2 per bag (limit of 2 per student). Students just need to bring in $2 per bag to the office, any morning before the day. On the day, students who have pre-purchased holi powder will receive a hand stamp to indicate the number of bags purchased. As they cross the line towards the end of the run, students will receive their pack/s of colour.

Sausage Sizzle Lunch

Parents attending our Colour Fun Run are welcome to join us for a sausage sizzle lunch at 12 o'clock.

Parents as well as students will need to pre-order. Spare order forms are available at The Hub.
Wet Weather Sports Arrangements

The persistent wet weather is posing a challenge for organisers of the many sports events on offer to students this term.

Updates to days, times and postponements are posted on the homepage of the school website as soon as information comes to hand. Notifications are also made via Facebook.
PSSA Cricket and Netball gala days
The postponed PSSA cricket and netball gala day has been rescheduled to Friday 31 March. The second PSSA gala day will hopefully be held on Friday 24 March. All students are reminded to bring recess, lunch and plenty of water as they will be away from school between 9:30am and 2pm.
