Anzacs Remembered | Term 2 Week 2

Weekly News
Anzacs Remembered
On Wednesday 26 April, staff and students at Lake Heights Public School remembered the Anzacs during a short remembrance ceremony. Wreath laying was a major feature in the ceremony and allowed the school, through our students, to commemorate the service of the Fallen.
The Dojo Machine: Should I stay or should  I go?

Otherwise known as the chocolate machine, the Dojo Factory has been at our school for more than a term now. It was introduced as a fun option for teachers to use with our ClassDojo behaviour system.

A short 2 question survey about the machine was opened late last term.

The machine was emptied at the end of last term and it will be taking a break for now. Classes will be using other rewards with the ClassDojos. In the meantime, we'd like as many people as possible to respond to the survey which can be accessed here: The Dojo Factory
Term 2
Please remember that teacher supervision of students starts at 8:30 am. We ask that students are dropped at school between 8:30 and the morning bell.

The free Dental program, Smiles Onsite, will be at school this week from 3 May. Their mobile clinic will be parked beside the school office.

It's not too late to access the service. An online consent form is available here. If you would like your child/children to participate in the free service please fill in the consent form and lodge it online. This form can be completed on a computer, laptop or smartphone.

If you do not have access or have any troubles filling out the online form, you can pick up a paper copy from the school front office or The Hub. We hope to see your child/children at the clinic this week!
Year 5 Opportunity Class entry 2018

The application website is open for families wishing to apply for Year 5, 2018 enrolment in an opportunity class.

Quiet Space

As the renovations to our library space have now been completed, we are opening the library every day during the second half of lunch. Students will be able to go there to use their own devices, read books, play quiet games or listen to stories online.

This will be a great space for children who would like a quiet place to be at lunch time.
We're Fundraising!

Lake Heights Public School is collaborating with Entertainment memberships to raise money for our school. The entertainment books and memberships include over 2,000 offers for the best restaurants, cafes, attractions and more.

20% from every membership sold contributes to supporting Lake Heights Public School. The school office has order forms available if you would like to order a book or digital membership.
Classroom Helpers
Thank you to those parents and family members who have enquired about helping in the classroom. If you are interested in helping in some way, the school office has Working With Children Check forms that can be quickly and easily filled out. Please check with individual teachers to see if assistance is needed.
