Multicultural Speeches
Congratulations to all of our students in Years 3-6 who wrote and presented their multicultural speeches last week. The teachers were very impressed with the high standard of speeches this year. We are happy to announce that Abby, Isadora, Mateja and Vasinddaran will be representing our school on Tuesday 20 June. We wish them all the best.
We're fundraising with Entertainment!

Dogs at school

A dog is a person's best friend, however, we need you to know that they are not allowed on school grounds, even if you have your dog on a leash. A number of children are uncomfortable with dogs and not all dogs are as well behaved as yours.

Something of interest - Dogs on school grounds:

Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998 No. 87 owners of dogs must:

  • be 18 years of age or over

  • leash their dog when in a public place

  • ensure their dog wears a collar and identification tag when in a public place

  • ensure their dog does not enter a food consumption area or wildlife protection area

  • ensure their dog does not enter a school or child care playground and any other place declared prohibited to dogs by Council.

The Raising Children Network has some great advice when it comes to children and dogs. Read here.

Athletics Carnival
The weather is predicted to be fine and sunny this Thursday, which will be fantastic for our annual School Athletics Carnival. The carnival will take place at John O'Dwyer Oval, Croome Road Sporting Complex, Albion Park from 9:45 to 2:00 on Thursday 15 June. The whole school will travel on two buses, departing school straight after the 8:55 roll call. Students are reminded bring their recess, lunch, hat and plenty of water on the day. They are welcome to wear their house colours. We look forward to an exciting day. If anyone has not returned their note and money please remember to do so ASAP.
In Kindergarten, we are learning to follow the beat of the song. We even have a conductor.
In K/1 we have been acting out different parts of our favourite stories. In this photo Daniel was being the Cranky Bear.
Mya and Annabella are drawing what they see out of their three-dimensional window to make reference to the book we've been focusing on in English-"Belonging", by Jeanie Baker.
Hot and cold planet by 2/3.

4/5 has been exploring how to use digital technology to create portraits.

In 5/6 we have linked our art to 'The Rainbow Serpent' story. This ties in with our 'Australia as a Nation' history unit. We hope you enjoy our short video by clicking on the above link.
