Apply for swim school, mathematics, parent courses: Term 4 | Week 3

Weekly News

Last week, P&C made a wonderful donation of $7,000 to the school, following the success of much hard work and effort with fundraising activities over the past year.

New sports equipment, team uniforms, school leader blazers, kitchen and gardening utensils are on the immediate list of items to be ordered. This money will go a lot further though and our students and staff are most grateful for the P&C's ongoing and valuable contribution to the learning programs at Lake Heights PS. Thank you so much!
2018 Kindergarten transition playgroup

Thank you so much to all of the families that came along to our first transition to school playgroup.

It was a fantastic turn out, with almost all children attending. It was particularly exciting to see the children interacting with each other and becoming familiar with the school environment and teachers. We look forward to our next playgroup on Wednesday.
Applications Open!

Applications open today for the Department of Education 2-week swim school program that runs towards the end of this term for two weeks.

The program is for beginning or non-swimmers. It develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over ten days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes.

Students in Years 1 to 6 who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills, and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided in deep water, are eligible to participate in the School Swimming Program.

Instruction will take place at Berkeley Swimming Pool.

The Scheme will continue daily for two weeks from Monday 27 November to Friday 8 December, departing school at 1.30 and returning a little after school by approximately 2.45pm.

Permission notes will be given to students today. They are also available for download and printing here.

Places are limited to 50 students, allocated on a first in basis.

It provides education about childhood development, the link between emotion and behaviour and the development of patterns in families. It delivers strategies for understanding behaviours, responding flexibly to children depending on their need, and choosing appropriate parenting strategies. It would be beneficial for a parent or carer who would like to better understand their child's emotions and/or behaviour and needs easy and practical parenting strategies. Grandparents Day

They say that grandparents are the best kind of grown ups and at Lake Heights, we know what an important role grandparents play in the lives of our students. Whether it be helping before and after school, cheering on a sporting team or simply being a smiling face and a shoulder to lean on, grandparents have a special part to play. This year, Lake Heights Public School will be joining with many others around the country, to celebrate the vital role grandparents play in our day-to-day lives.

Grandparents are invited to join us at 9:30am, this Friday 27 October, for class time together then morning tea. Visit your grandchildren's classes and join in some fun learning and sharing.

Class time starts at 9:30.

Morning tea will be served in the Learning Hub from 10:30am.

To assist with catering, please let us know if you’re able to attend by completing the RSVP that children will bring home today.

Spare notes are available at The Hub.

We hope you can join us!
