Education Week is our opportunity to welcome families and friends to the school to see firsthand, the magic of learning. A visit to open classrooms today showcased contemporary learning at its best.
The theme of Education Week 2018 – Today’s schools – creating tomorrow’s world, highlights how schools, including Lake Heights, are equipping children with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Today we opened our new Adventure Playground. It’s a space where students will benefit from a connection with nature, where they can mix with children beyond their immediate social circle and play in imaginative and creative ways.
If you were unable to attend Open Day today, please take the opportunity to drop by one afternoon after school this week. We're sure you’ll be impressed.
Check out our Facebook page to see more of our Education Week celebrations and adventure playground.
Last week, 5/6 had a special visit from the film makers who produced the film Protection, which some of our students starred in. We were given a glimpse of the film and got to watch the movie trailer, whilst sitting under a special cubby house.
We talked about how the people in the film felt when they were put in difficult situations, like being bullied and being pressured into risky situations by friends.
We loved sitting in the cubby because it was a safe place where we wouldn't be criticised or judged. Thank you to Beyond Empathy for the visit.
