She's kept it very well under wraps, but this Thursday, we'll be farewelling Mrs Norman for the final time. Mrs Norman is planning to take leave for the rest of the year and then begin her retirement, where she hopes to spend time travelling and enjoying the company of her family.
Arriving towards the end of 2002, Mrs Norman has been with us for 16 years. Over that time, she has become well known for her no-nonsense attitude, her incredible baked goods, her knack for stretching the school dollar and obtaining the best deals from suppliers, her dry sense of humour, and above all, her very big heart.
Mrs Norman, who is a talented seamstress, has dedicated countless unpaid hours sewing costumes for school productions, fashioning up aprons for our cooking group, baking for cake stalls and organising school events. Her attention to detail and organisational skills are second to none, and have been a great asset to our team.
Mrs Norman has dedicated much of her life to Lake Heights Public School and has done an astounding job in her role. Mrs Griffiths, who will be stepping into the role in a full-time capacity for the next term, has some big shoes to fill, but we know that she will continue to do a fantastic job.
Please join us in wishing Mrs Norman all of the very best for a happy retirement. Best of luck for the next chapter - you will be missed.
Yeehaw! What a haul!
Thanks for everyone who got involved with last week's Farm Day celebration. We raised $308 for Buy A Bale, RuralAid initiative through our gold coin donations and a further $342 from the P&C's cake stall. We also donated 7-8 boxes of food and essentials that will be transported directly to farmers in need.
All in all, it was a great day with lots of fun had by the students. Here are some snap shots from the day! Click here for more photos of the day or check out this week's 'Around the school' video.
Results for Year 3 and 5 NAPLAN 2018 will come home with students today. Further information about how to understand individual student reports can be found here.
