A grand kind of day, A 100% hat habit, Swim school bookings: Term 4 | Week 3

Weekly News
It was a grand kind of day

On behalf of students, staff and our P&C, thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for our Grandparent's Day celebrations. The children adored showing their grandparents around their school and we had countless students asking whether it was Grandparents Day again the following day. It is always special for students to share time and some personal stories with their grandparents, and we're glad that so many students were able to share some of those special moments today.

A big thank you to our wonderful P&C who organised a lovely morning tea for our special visitors. You can check out some special moments of the day here or watch this week's Around the School video to see some of the highlights from the day.
Hats off to all of our students and parents!

Compulsory school hats start 19 Nov

Following the immediate success of our 100% hat campaign, P&C has voted unanimously to introduce compulsory school hats earlier than 2019. We have agreed to start compulsory wearing of school hats on the week following our colour fun run, just in time for the start of summer.

On Monday 19 November, students will receive their free school hat and that will be the hat students wear to and from school as well as at school for all outdoor activities.

Parent choice slips (bucket hat or cap) will be available next week for parents to nominate their choice of school hat for their child.

Additional hats are available now from the office. Caps $5 and Bucket hats $10. Remember, children will all receive their free hat on 19 November.

Run4Fun Colour Explosion

A reminder to keep collecting those sponsorships for our School Run4Fun Colour Explosion Fun Run. We'll be making Lake Heights just a little bit more colourful on the 15 November.  All sponsorship forms, along with money raised must be returned to the office no later than Friday 16 November. Please remember to nominate your desired prize before handing it in.

On the days, students are welcome to wear mufti, however for the most colourful results, we recommend wearing a white shirt. Big W currently have girls and boys plain white tees for $2.50 each, as shown below.
Colour Explosion Sausage Sizzle 15 Nov

Keep your eyes peeled for sausage sizzle order forms being sent home today.  The Run4Fun Colour Explosion sausage sizzle will be held at lunch on 15 November, the day of the fun run.

All sausages must be preordered and are due 12 November.
