School photo envelopes will be sent home this week. These are all individually named and sent from the photographers. There are no spare envelopes available. Envelopes are to be returned to the class teacher and they can be brought in up until the morning of the photos. We will be starting class and whole school photos promptly, so don't be late. For sibling photos, envelopes are available at the front office.
Parent teacher conversations
Don't forget that online bookings are available for parent-teacher conversations for the week of 11-15 March, with some bookings available before or after this date. We look forward to seeing everyone. If you are unable to book online, please contact your child's teacher personally or via classdojo and we can make the booking for you.
Go to https://lhps.nsw.edu.au/parent-teacher-conversations/to book your chat time.
A hearty thanks
A big thank you to Mr Leland, Mr Pianon and Vaughn for all your amazing work, time and passion with our school boat. We learned that our very special boat has a fifty year history. It was towed from Minnamurra River and it had layers upon layers of paint and aging that had to be peeled back and removed. Then came the beautiful spray painting and detailing. Next, it was installed in our adventure playground right next to our brand new sandpit.
Sent home last week was a book of away notes. Complete these notes and return to school once your child is able to attend. Please remember to call the front office to let us know if your child will be away.
If your child is going on a holiday during school time, for an extended period of time, it is required that you complete a 'certificate of extended leave' form. Once completed, Mr Heddles must approve the extended leave. You will then be given a form of approval, which is to be carried throughout the period of leave.
The week that was
Another very busy week at Lake Heights Public School. So busy, in fact, there are two videos this week. Click the photo to follow the link to our weekly video.
Just a reminder that the shop is still closed but will reopen for lunch orders on Friday 14 March.
After school care
If your child is attending after school care, please remind them to remain seated in front of the year 1/2 classroom. This ensures everyone is together, ready to be picked up.
P & C news
The P & C have been very busy organising a Harmony Day event for Thursday 21 March. Harmony Day celebrates Australia's cultural diversity. It is about inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. Children are to wear orange on this day and provide a gold coin donation. Money raised will go towards other school events throughout the year. We welcome donations of Orange cupcakes or cakes which will be sold for $1 per piece/cupcake.
Also coming up will be our Easter Hat Parade on Thursday 11 April. Raffle tickets and sausage sizzle order forms will be handed out on Monday 18 March and collected by Monday 8 April. We appreciate any donations for the Easter basket raffle, so send them to your childs classroom.
The next P & C meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday 5 March. This meeting will be held in the Learning Hub. All are welcome so come along and join in with all the amazing preparations that are all ready underway.
