Weekly News

Cross Country

Our cross country will be held at school this Thursday 4 April 2019. Join us on the basketball court from 9:30am where the school and house flags will be flying. All students will walk the course before the events commence. 5-7-year-olds will complete one lap before moving to the adventure playground for a special obstacle course. 8-13-year-olds will complete multiple laps of the course. Freshly cut fruit and ice blocks will be provided at breaks. Expected time of finish is 10:45 am.  Students can wear their sporting house colours in support of their team. A t-shirt, armband, headband, face paint, or coloured hair are all okay. More information is available on our school website.

Anzac Day service

As you know, Anzac Day falls in our school holidays, so we will be holding our Anzac Day service next Tuesday 9 April at 10:15 am.  All are welcome to attend this important remembrance ceremony. We have a special guest speaker from Rotary attending.

Easter parade

The Easter Parade is on next Wednesday 10 April at 10:30 am under the COLA. Lots of creative ideas are out there to make your own Easter themed hats, bonnets and caps at home. K-2 will be making and creating simple hats in class. Everyone is most welcome to come along and assist us on Monday 8 April at 1:40 pm. More donations are needed for the Easter Raffle. Easter eggs, bunnies and bilbies will fill the baskets nicely. Sausage sizzle orders need to be sent in by Monday 8 April. Don't forget to buy tickets in the Easter Raffle, too. Lots of prizes to be won.

Looks different

More and more changes have been occurring around the school over the last two weeks. Year 3/4 have been in the Learning Hub for a few days whilst their classroom has had a new external doorway installed. They have also had a sink fitted at the back of their classroom. A washing machine and drier are soon to be set up in the kitchen. A sink and wet area have been removed from the 5/6 classroom to allow for more room.

Cricket and netball Gala day 2

Our next Gala Day for years 3-6 students is to be held this Friday 5 April at Fred Finch Park. Come along and support our students competing in mixed teams in netball and soccer. The games last week were very well played and behaviour was exemplary. Congratulations also to years 1 and 2 who all participated in a t-ball Gala day at Kemblawarra. The students all had a great time and their behaviour, too, was exemplary.
