100% attendance

Congratulations to all those students who achieved 100% attendance in term one. Keep up the great work and let's see if we can all raise our attendance rate this term.

Schoolyard blitz

During the school holidays, many activities went on at our school. Buildings were painted, table tennis table and outdoor seating installed, working bee in the garden where over 30 volunteers attended and new signs placed around the school. Come in and have a look around at all the changes. Thank you to everyone involved who gave up their time.

Let's get moving

This year our school has registered to participate in the NSW Premier’s Sporting Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge is to encourage students to participate in sport and physical activity to lead a healthy lifestyle. Over the ten weeks of Term Two, K-6 students will be monitoring physical activity levels during class time, at recess and lunch as well as during sports lessons. Physical activity outside school hours will also count towards the Challenge award. The aim is to work towards an average of at least 60 minutes of activity a day for ten weeks.

Winter is coming

Last term, we had a record number of students in full school uniform. With the cooler weather approaching, let's remember that blue jumpers and jackets are part of our uniform and wear black shoes every day. Hats are required for all seasons and available at the office any day. Caps $5. Bucket hats $10

P&C news

Our next P&C meeting is this Wednesday 8 May. Come along and join us for discussions about some interesting ideas for future fundraising activities. Our Mother's Day Stall is on this Friday with gifts available for all students to purchase.

Merits

Southern Stars cake stall

Our Southern Stars dance group are very excited about this year's show. To help raise funds towards the cost of buses, material and sewing we will be holding a cake stall on Saturday 18 May at school. This is the day for voting. All donations of cakes, cupcakes and slices would be really appreciated. Please drop off to the kitchen or to Miss Hunter on Friday 17 May.

Kindergarten 2020

If your child is turning 5 this year (or very early next year), now is a good time to enrol them in kindergarten ready for a 2020 start. Enrolment forms are available at our office. Keep an eye on our calendar for all the Kindergarten orientation days in term four.

Your opinion counts

Live Life Well @ School (LLWatS) is a joint initiative between the Department of Education and the Ministry of Health and aims to get students, more active more often and to develop healthy eating habits. We value your opinion and would love for as many families as possible to complete an online survey about our school's healthy eating and physical activity programs.
