New frog pond, Athletics Carnival, Kindergarten assembly, teapot garden and more: Term 2 | Week 10

Frog pond installation

Last week, workers from Bunnings came along and helped install a frog pond. A lot of hard work and manpower was involved. Thank you to Bunnings for the donation of all the plants, rocks, safety wire and pond lining. Thank you also to Chrissy, Rachelle and Maree for the additional work over the weekend, to ensure that the pond is watertight.

Athletics Carnival

We are looking to the sky with our fingers crossed. Should the rain stay away, the athletics carnival will go ahead this Thursday 04 July at Croome Road. Let's hope that it doesn't rain (although it is forecast that there will be rain on Thursday). We do have another backup date on Thursday the first week of Term 3, just in case. Keep an eye on Class Dojo or Facebook for further announcements.

The patter of tiny feet

This week is the last week of work for Mrs Denton as she takes her maternity leave. We wish her all the best for her maternity leave as she awaits her second little one to join her wonderful family. Mrs Denton will return in 2020. We will miss you.

Term three lunch orders

Just a reminder that starting next term, lunch order prices will have a small increase. The cost of most menu items on the school lunch order form will be raised by 30-50c next term. The shop has absorbed supplier price increases since the current menu was printed in 2017. We hope parents will find that lunch prices are still relatively modest.

I'm a little teapot

Thank you for all the donations of boots and shoes for our garden. Students have had a great time potting them up with succulents and placing them around the school. Keep them coming in. If you have any teapots or large ceramic cups or mugs, please send them to school for Mrs Brisbane to establish a teapot garden.

Community Garden Group meeting

The Community Garden Group will be meeting this week on Tuesday 02 July at 9:30 am in the Learning Hub. Come along and join in. You'll hear all about the exciting plans for Lake Heights Public School.

Kindergarten assembly this week

Kindergarten has been busy rehearsing for their assembly item for this Wednesday 03 July. Come along at 2:00 pm and watch as they entertain us with a song and a dance. They will also be showing us all some of their hard work.
