Education Week

We invite you to attend an Open Day event this Wednesday 07 August at 10:15am. Our classrooms will be open for you to visit and join in with our activities and learning.  In the spirit of this years theme, "Every student, Every voice", there will be samples of students' writing on display around the school.

Footy Colours Day

What a great display of footy colours there was today. We also had some amazing hair colours that were expertly sprayed by senior students. Thank you to everyone who brought in a gold coin to help raise funds for the Year Six farewell.

Book Week

Our Book Week parade will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday 20 August. A yummy sausage sizzle lunch will then follow. Order forms are available from the Hub. The theme this year is "Reading is my secret power" but we've extended it to "Reading is my superpower". Come along and see all of our creative and unique characters on parade. Which character will you be?

Care, Respect and Safety

Lake Heights Public School prides itself in providing an environment that stimulates effective learning and supports the wellbeing of everyone. Strategies that promote respectful relationships are taught across key learning areas and reinforced consistently through school practices. We strive to teach skills and understandings that eliminate or minimise bullying behaviours.

The school’s anti bullying plan sits within our Behaviour Code for Students located on the school website. A 2019 update can now be viewed alongside this document. Paper copies are also available at the Hub or by download here.

Stewart House bags

Stewart House clothing bags have been distributed and are due back to school by Tuesday 13 August. Please deliver to the kitchen. As NSW Public Education’s Charity of Choice, Stewart House is a not-for-profit organisation based at Curl Curl on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.  Stewart House was formed over 88 years ago by the NSW Departments of Education and Health in collaboration with the NSW Teachers Federation.

Calling all Lego Masters

If you have any spare or unused Lego blocks lying around, we would love you to donate them to the Makerspace area. We currently have a very limited amount of Lego blocks to work with. Please drop off to the wet area between Year 1/2 and Year 2 classrooms in the baskets provided. How many combinations are possible using 7 Lego bricks?

Rides and fun day

Friday 30 August is a very special day for Lake Heights Public School. This day will be the official day that Mr Heddles will be retiring. We will be holding a formal assembly at 10:15am. This will be followed by a rides afternoon for students from 11:30am to 2:15pm. A note will be sent home this week should you wish to pre-purchase wristbands.
