Public speaking for all

Families may be aware that Lake Heights Public School is part of a group called the Warrawong Community of Schools which consists of the local high school and it’s feeder primary schools.

Our Community of Schools places great value in public speaking. Public speaking builds confidence, resilience and is a valuable skill that will assist students throughout their school career and into their adult lives. All students, including Kindergarten, will be given the opportunity to participate in the Warrawong Community of Schools Public Speaking Competition this term. A separate information note is coming home with students today. Speeches will be prepared in class where students will also learn about and practise public speaking. Additional practice can take place at home. Dates for the stages of the competition are on the note sent home with students and here.

Our principal receives an Executive Director’s Award “In his final years as principal, Mr Heddles has worked extensively with his community to continue to build on the positive image of the school and maintain students at the centre of decision making…” Click here to view the presentation.
