Last Friday, Year 6 visited the University of Wollongong for the annual event called "In2Uni".  The program aims to start the conversation with students about higher education. It gives students the opportunity to experience university, interact with university students and staff and think about why they might like to consider study beyond school.

Bee Hotel

A huge thank you to Bunnings for providing all of the materials for us to build bee hotels. 4/5 worked hard to construct as many bee hotels as they could for our native bees. Bee populations in Australia and worldwide are declining. Lake Heights Public School is helping by placing bee hotels all around the school grounds. The bees in our bee hotels will help to pollinate both our local wildflowers and our veggie garden.

Garden Group update

The Garden Group have been very busy this Term. There are still some spaces on the watering timetable. If you wish to volunteer please see Chrissy or write your name on the timetable in the Hub. There will be more after school activities this term, with mini terrariums being made next Wednesday at 3:00pm.

State Athletics

Congratulations to Destin who came ninth in shot put at this year's State Athletics Carnival last Thursday. We are very proud.

This year, Year 6 have made a movie based on the theme "Imagine" for the WACKI film festival. The movie will be screened at the Gala Cinema in Warrawong at 5:30pm next Wednesday 20 November. Tickets for the evening screening are $1 and are available from the office. A food and drink combo is also available for $5.
