2020 Leader Nominations, Presentation Day Raffle, Terrariums and much more: Term 4 | Week 6

Leaders 2020

Year 5 students who are interested in being nominated for school leader positions in 2020 will be receiving forms this week. There are 2 Captain and 2 Vice-Captain positions which can be filled by any combination of boy/girl numbers. Nominations close on Friday 29 November. Students will have until Friday 6 December to prepare a speech that they will deliver on the same day at a 9.30am assembly.

Presentation Day Raffle

The P&C will be holding the annual raffle draw during the presentation day assembly on Wednesday 11th of December. Raffle tickets will be sent home this week. We also need donations for the raffle and these can be left in the baskets provided to each class.

Terrariums

From 3:00 - 4:00pm this Wednesday 20 November, our After School Garden Group will be making mini-terrariums. Cost is a gold coin donation. All students need to be accompanied by an adult.

Wacki Wednesday

Every year, since 2002, our Community of Schools has held a film festival called WACKI (Warrawong And Community Kids Images). Each primary school and several groups from Warrawong High prepare a short film which is screened at the Gala Cinema. Tickets for the Wednesday evening screening are available for $1 from our office.

Merits

Kinder 2020

Next Monday 25 November is our first orientation for Kindergarten 2020 parents and children. The session commences at 9:15am till 10:45am. Children will be in the Kindergarten room whilst parents attend an information session in the Learning Hub. Our second orientation day is Monday 2 December.

T-ball Gala Day

This Friday 22 November Kinder to Year 2 will be attending a T-ball Gala day at Kemblawarra Public School. All students must wear a school hat and we recommend applying sunscreen before we leave. We will play a few rounds of t-ball and will also participate in novelty activities. Please bring plenty of water, recess and lunch, if not ordering a sausage sizzle.
