Allergy awareness

Food allergies are becoming increasingly common among children, some having a severe allergy to nuts/other allergens. Any exposure to these items, even a tiny amount, could be potentially very serious and life-threatening for these children. Discussions about allergy awareness are carried out in class. We do ask our students and families to help make our school environment safer for all students, by following these simple suggestions to minimise the risk of a student with food allergies being exposed to known allergens:

  • avoid sending foods that contain nuts, such as peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches
  • always contact the classroom teacher before sending any food for sharing with the class
  • remind your child to refrain from sharing food and drinks with other students
  • remind your child to wash their hands before and after eating

We greatly appreciate your support for children with food allergies.

Just a reminder that our P&C will be holding their Annual General Meeting for P&C positions at 9:30am tomorrow, Tuesday 11 Feb 2020, in the Learning Hub. Everyone is welcome to come along and join the P&C with membership being $1.00 for the year. The P&C work hard each year in raising funds for our school.

Bike safety
Students traveling to and from school, as well as those at school, need to feel and be safe. Students riding scooters or bicycles to and from school must correctly wear a Standards Australia approved bicycle helmet at all times when in control of a bicycle or scooter. Everyone must dismount bicycles/scooters before entering and leaving our school grounds and walk their bicycles/scooters whilst inside the school fence. Bicycles and scooters are to be stored in the bicycle rack. Bicycles and scooters are not to be ridden whilst in the school grounds. Please stay safe and follow the road rules when riding to and from school.
Calling all green thumbs
The first Garden Group meeting will be held on Wednesday 12 February at 2:45pm in The Learning Hub. Come along and join the team which has some amazing plans for our gardens and would love the input of anyone who would like to become involved.
