P&C, Uniform, Shop Closed Soon, Southern Stars and much more: Term 1 | Week 4

Weekly News
Stay up to date with all of the news and upcoming events at Lake Heights Public School.
Congratulations to our new P&C position holders for 2020. We welcome Chrissy Talevska (President), Emma Nicholls (Vice President), Belinda Chase (Treasurer) and Rachelle Smith (Secretary). We all know what hard work there is ahead for you in your support for the school and the community. A busy year is already underway with a Mother's Day stall, hampers for the Easter Raffle and some exciting community involvement planned again for the convoy. We look forward to a great year ahead.
Blue and yellow
Our school uniform looks amazing and it's so nice to see everyone in full school uniform, every day. Don't forget that bomber jackets are available, sizes 6 - 16, for $40. School shoes are black. Remember to check the lost property baskets regularly for hats, jumpers, and tracksuits. Lost property is situated near the Kindergarten room and Learning Hub.

Let's celebrate

Southern Stars will be celebrating 20 years in 2020 and our school will be a part of the celebration. Performance dates are: Friday 28 August 2020 and Saturday 29 August 2020 with 4 performances held at WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong. Information will be sent home soon and we will let you know when the 30 places for our primary dancers will become available.

Garden volunteers
The Garden Group met last Wednesday and has already set many projects in motion. If you can spare some time throughout the year in helping us maintain our gardens, pop in to the Hub and put your name down on the latest roster. We greatly appreciate all the time that everyone provides.
Money, money, money
School banking has begun and we encourage students to save a little money each week into their account. Application forms are available for the Commonwealth Bank Dollamite account, outside the learning hub. Banking helps students learn about the value of money and to develop good saving habits. Our school banking day is each Wednesday.
Farewell Mrs Upeski
Last week was the last week of work for Mrs Upeski as she takes her maternity leave. We wish her all the best as she awaits her second little one to join her beautiful family. We will miss you. Mrs Nicastri will be teaching Years 5/6, Monday to Friday, for the remainder of the year.
The shop is closed from March 1st to March 26th. No lunch orders will be taken during this time.
