This week we start the downward slope towards the end of Term 4 and 2020. On Friday we unveiled our new mural after 5 weeks of hard work. Today’s quote is fitting. Pictured is Deegan proudly showing off our project. He took a lead role in supporting the younger students to develop the art skills Daren taught. Our parents collecting students on Friday afternoon also caught an impromptu dance performance at the gate from our junior boys having just performed to the school. I thank Daren for his great work, and we will look forward to a continued biannual relationship. If you haven’t voted yet for where our mural should hang, please vote here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z666GZZ This week, our neighbourhood shop reopens, meaning we can begin ordering lunches again from Wednesday. Our order days remain on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We have sent home a paper copy of the new menu today, and after that, it will remain digitally on our website, FaceBook and Dojo for printing at home if required. There will be laminated copies in classes for students to refer to. Over recent months, I have been keeping the community informed on our fencing project due to commence in the summer holidays. Our initial intention was to complete Northcliffe Drive first, with Grandview to be considered in 2021. As we approach the end of the year, our financial situation has enabled us to complete the project in one phase. We save on-site costs, and we can then ensure the safety of our entire school as we begin the new year. I am proud to inform the community that we have been able to stamp this project’s go ahead, as it was the first item raised for consideration at my inaugural PandC meeting back in February. I look forward to returning to a new and shiny 1.8 metre navy blue fence come February 2021. Lastly, today I met with our Year 5 students to discuss leadership in 2021. All students in Year 6 hold an important leadership function, but some run for the formal office positions of Captain and Vice-Captain. Those students who expressed interest in these positions have brought home notes today. All of the information is contained within, but will require your endorsement as a carer. Please read the information carefully. It will then require my endorsement as Principal. As a person passionate about community leadership, I take this process seriously and will meet with each candidate when they return their notes to discuss my endorsement of their application. I thank our current leaders and look forward to handing over the positions on Presentation Day on the morning of December 8. We are now able to have limited community members at our Presentation Day by invitation and RSVP only, but I will share more information regarding this in the coming weeks. Have a great week. Kind regards, Kieren Corbyn (Principal)

Student numbers

Anticipated student numbers for 2021 are very important to our school planning and financial processes, so if you are considering leaving, or know of someone who intends to come to our school in 2021, please get in contact. Every student affects these processes, so accurate gauging is vital and I appreciate the support of our community.
