For 23 years now the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition has been encouraging primary school students to explore ideas of multiculturalism in Australia, as well as giving them a place to practice their public speaking skills and improve their confidence. Lake Heights Public School has an excellent track record at the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition and has been represented particularly strongly over the past few years.

News from the P&C A special day for mum Yesterday was a little gloomy, but we hope it was made a little brighter for the mums, many of whom would have had the pleasure of unwrapping a beautiful gift purchased from our Mother’s Day stall last Thursday. A few lucky students also walked home with some extra goodies for mum, after winning the Mother’s Day Raffle. Nar Moe from 3/4  took home a  beautiful pink robe for mum and and Skye Stanton in year one, won a lovely teddy bear.

During the April holidays, Lake Heights will be one of 90 school across the state taking  part in a trial program which will open up playgrounds, ovals and sports fields for the whole community to enjoy. As part of this program, gates will be open from 8am to 6pm from 16 to 27 April 2018.
