8.50am - 3.00pm

Years 3 – 6 will be visiting Wollongong Botanical Gardens and Wollongong Art Gallery. We are leaving school at 8:50am. Students will be divided into two smaller groups at each location. After eating lunch at the Botanical Gardens we head off to the Gallery. We expect to arrive back at school by 3:00pm.

Wollongong Botanic Garden is a place of natural beauty where people come to relax and celebrate. This spectacular 30-hectare botanic garden overlooks the city of Wollongong from its highest point at the Gleniffer Brae Manor House and features an impressive collection of native and exotic plants. It is distinguished by a number of unique garden collections with their own environmental characteristics and unique stories to tell.

Wollongong Art Gallery, managed by Wollongong City Council, is one of the largest regional art museums in Australia. It has an important collection of Australian, Aboriginal and Asian art. The permanent collection not only documents Illawarra regional histories and art practices but also reflects developments and issues in art of local, national and international relevance.
