The Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program is an intensive learn to swim program, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over ten days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes.
Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills, and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided in deep water, are eligible to participate in the School Swimming Program. The program focuses on weak swimmers in Years 1 to 6.
Instruction will take place at Berkeley Swimming Pool.
The Scheme will continue daily for two weeks from Monday 28 November to Friday 9 December, departing school at 1.30 and returning a little after school by approximately 2.45pm.
Permission notes were sent home on 17 October and were also available on this page from the same day. Places limited to 50 students, allocated on a first in basis, are now full.
Students who have missed out on a place may have their name added to a reserve list in the event that a student might withdraw. Please visit or contact the school office to add your child’s name to a reserve list.
